The Books of The New Testament
Join in the fun! Register your church to "adopt" a book of The New Testament.
All of the books have been "adopted," but everyone is welcome to just show up Sunday and pitch in. Every church will have at least one person distributing Scripture sheets and chalk to participants, and they will be happy to give one to you!
Shown at right is a table of the 27 books of The New Testament, with the number of words in each book. We figure each participant should easily be able to write 150 words in a half-hour, so we divided the words for each chapter by 150 and put that number in the "People" column.
How many people attend your church on an average Sunday? We are also estimating that about half of a church's average attendance will be interested in this event. (This includes friends, extended family and coworkers). So, for example, if you seat about 100 members in your church each week, we believe you should be able to write the Book of Romans. Here are a few thoughts to consider:
• Most adults should be able to write more than our estimate - maybe two or three times
• Please include children! This is an event for the entire family. (Parents and friends can help.)
• Depending on the weather, we anticipate many "walk-ons" who may volunteer to help you.
Has your church, organization or family signed up yet? We invite you to...
